Saskia Rao de Haas
Saskia Rao de Haas started her cello lessons at the age of eight with the late cello maestro Tibor de Machula. She has introduced her Indian cello to North Indian classical music and is an exponent of this art form. She studied at the conservatory of Rotterdam (1993-1999), under the guidance of flute maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia and Koustav Roy. At present, she is doing her PhD on the Indian cello from the University of Leiden and Royal Conservatory of the Hague. She has performed extensively in India & abroad.
