Description

The first volume in a set of seven books by Omkarnath Thakur, this book contains definitions of terms and terminology related to Hindustani music, as well as notated compositions in the following raags:

Bhupali, Hansadhwani, Durga, Sarang, Tilang, Bhinnashadja, Khamaj, Des, Kafi, Alhaiya Bilawal, and Tilak Kamod. Also included are samples of alankars, alap and taans in the above raags.

These volumes were edited by Balwantrai Bhatt "Bhavrang" and later by Dr. Premlata Sharma, both of whom were his disciples.
