NATYA SHASTRA WORKSHOP AT SHAKTIYOGASHRAMA
Schedule
18th February – 21st February
The workshop will consist of –
*Lectures and talks to understand the Samkhya and Kashmira Shaiva philosophy that has shaped the form of Sanskrit Natya.
*Practical training sessions in the enactment of caris ( leg movements) and karanas ( movement units.)
Added inputs –
*Daily sessions on yoga and meditation that is a part of the ashram culture.
* Cultural awareness programme consisting of
-The Yoga Of Indian Dance (a lecture performance)by Mandakini Trivedi
- Shiva in Indian thought – Devdutt Pattanaik.
- We are what we eat by Dr. Vijaya Venkat
-Fun treks in the jungle.
-Cultural event on the night of Mahashivratri featuring
-Mohini Attam by Mandakini Trivedi,
-The Purvaranga Vidhi of the Natya Shastra, -(as reconstructed by Kalamandalam Piyal)
-Dhrupad Cello recital by Nancy Kulkarni Lesh.
