Description
Book launch of 'My name is Gauhar Jaan--the life and times of a musician' by Vikram Sampath in Pune. The book traces the life of the first Indian classical musician to record on the gramophone, Miss Gauhar Jaan of Calcutta. The author would be in conversation with Hindustani vocalist Arati Ankalikar Tikekar and writer Gouri Dange. The evening would also witness the playing of some rare recordings of the legendary Gauhar Jaan from her original 78 rpm's ripped into a CD that comes along with the book.
