The initiative to set up Underscore Records Pvt. Ltd was taken by Indian musicians Aneesh Pradhan and Shubha Mudgal.

Shubha Mudgal - She is a versatile Indian performer who has received training from some of India 's greatest musicians such as Ram Ashreya Jha, Vinay Chandra Maudgalya, Vasant Thakar, Jitendra Abhisheki, Kumar Gandharva and Naina Devi. Awarded the Padmashri by the Government of India in 2000, she is acclaimed both as a composer and a performer, and maintains a keen and active interest in multimedia and Internet projects related to music.

 

Aneesh Pradhan - A disciple of tabla maestro Nikhil Ghosh, Aneesh has gained recognition both as a soloist and an accompanist to vocal and instrumental music as well as dance. In addition to being an accomplished performer, Aneesh was awarded a doctoral degree in History from the University of Mumbai . A successful composer, Aneesh has also written on music and has been involved as a contributor to and editor for websites on Indian music.

 

Ani Gupta - Ani Gupta is uniquely gifted in his understanding and use of multimedia and graphic design. He studied Film production and Design, and Fine Arts in the US. He was lucky enough to witness the birth of the World Wide Web, and over the years has been involved with it in one way or another. He returned to India several years ago to set up Metaphorm, his design company which has since been involved in creating websites for a variety of clients with diverse needs. He first collaborated with Shubha Mudgal and Aneesh Pradhan in 1997 to set up Raagsangeet.com, one of the first websites on Indian music to be started by Indian musicians. Passionately fond of music, Ani Gupta empathises with, and supports, the aims and objectives of Underscore Records.

Adarsh Kochhar - Adarsh Kochhar is a qualified Software Engineer and master's in Economics from BITS Pilani. He works currently as an Assistant Vice President - IT for an investment bank, based in Singapore. He is a versatile person with keen interest and great experience in IT development and likes to keep pace with the bleeding edge technology. He has had exposure to a great variety of projects across Banks/MNCs in countries like US, South Africa, Singapore apart from India. He and Ani are childhood friends, having spent almost 12 years together in school. They've done creative projects together in the past. Adarsh has been the technical soul of this project, responsible for database design, back-end development and support. He has great passion towards the cause of bringing original music from the musicians themselves to the larger audience, which is the essence of this site. Having handled this project from Singapore, he has proved that we are truly headed towards a boundary-less world with the internet.
